Restoration, 2012

No big plans for this year either, maintenance etc.

Radiator cowl

My car has had radiator cowl missing since I bought the car. Couple of years ago I bought a glass fibre cowl from a friend, who has bought it from UK eBay. Because of lazyness I postponed installing it but now I finally got enough energy. Had to remove radiator and of course the fluids. And bolt holes did not match 100% so I had to install it three times before it was ok, fixing holes in each time. But there it is now and new fluids in system.

Timing marks

While under car when installing radiator and cowl, I also made 5, 10 and 15 degree timing marks to pulley wheel. According to my measurements, the circumreference of pulley is conveniently 720mm, which means 5 degrees is 1cm. There may be some error in my measurement as I did it in situ under car, but even 5mm difference in circumreference does not matter much in 5, 10, 15 degree marks. Maybe I should have made also 30 degree mark or whatever it is where timing is set 3000 rpm. Well, maybe later. I grinded small grooves with Dremel tool and painted grooves white.
