Misc pictures

Miscellaneous pictures of Jaguar Mk2.

Scuttle flap mechanism

Scuttle flap mechanism from above. No springs, just a torsion of U shaped metal pipe keeps flap closed and open. Water goes to pit on right and there is a hole in bottom of it to drain out. Usually the pit is full of garbage, so vacuum it. The box of my car needs some rust proofing...

Mk2 clock

Clock with contact post and spring marked. (Enlarge picture with your browser) Adjust the spring so that post gets contact but does not too strong press it to hinder movement. The clock is not polarity sensitive. To start the clock, push adjusting rod down once or twice, there is additonal contact attached to it which gives a start kick for spindle.

Engine rear stabilizer

The engine rear stabilizer was missing. I bought a spare from Jeff Warner but when trying to install it I found out that there is no flat plate in bell housing to which attached the bottom end of stabilizer with L-shaped fasteners (which I do not have either, but that's not a problem now). I wonder what bell housing this is? The picture is bad because of tight place, but you can see that there is no flat part, just those bell housing fastening bolt holes. Weird. Well, I guess I have to live without stabilizer, just like PO did.
