These are the 'official' work shop manuals and a must for
restorer. Spare parts manual helps finding a correct part number when ordering
parts and has lot of pictures about sub assemblies to help you disassemble and
assemble them. Service manual gives step by step instructions for almost
everything you will face during restoring. These books are available from most
Jaguar part sellers.
This one came with
my car and is quite close to service manual shown above, but in some details
gives more information or pictures. And it is so dirty already that I can keep
it in my garage without worrying to make it worse. This one is probably not
available anymore unless you find a private seller.
I bought this book 3 years
before I bought my Mk2! So I was dreaming with this book what I will do some
day. The book goes through a typical (is there one?) Mk2 restoration case. Being
from UK, the car is rusted quite badly, so lot of instructions for sill, fender
etc repair. But also mechanical, interior etc. Available from Practical Classics
and most book shops (in UK).
This one is not Jaguar
related, but a general one. But quite good one for a beginner. It is very USA
based, all shops and material referred are in USA. But there is lot of
information for others too. I bought it from Borders, San Diego, probably
available through all book shops.
Basics from all Jaguar models. Available from most book
shops.
General reading of the
marquee. I bought mine from London.
Very thoroughful book
about Mk1 and Mk2. All the changes during production etc. I bought it from
Amazon.
Maybe even better than
the previous one. Lots of very good pictures, history etc. I recommend this one.
Available from most book shops.
Thin book how to operate and maintain your Mk2.
Same wiring diagram as in other manuals (like Service Manual) but
bigger drawings and separate page of each subsystem so easier to read and use
than the one with tiny fonts and all in same drawing. I got this from XKs
unlimited.
Car magazine article
reprints from 1960s. I bought it from Foyles, London.
XK engine rebuild and tuning. I bought this from Foyles,
London.
Seat, door panels,
headlining, carpets etc. Mk2 front seats used as an example, so pretty well and
detailly covered. I bought this from Foyles, London.
